Fordham Test Optional Policy

The Office of Undergraduate Admission does not require scores from the SAT or ACT. Since moving to test-optional in May 2020, Fordham has enrolled the largest, most diverse classes in the University’s history, while maintaining our high academic standards. With this in mind, Fordham will retain its test-optional policy. If you choose to submit a test score, it will be only one among many factors in our academic evaluation of your application. Applicants who choose not to submit test scores will not be penalized for making this choice. For more information about our test optional policy, please go here.

Important Admission Updates

We have made some updates to assist you and your students with the application process:

Admission Process Updates

The short response on the Common Application that was required is now optional. We now have three optional short responses where students can share more about themselves: a unique Fordham question, a COVID-19 impact statement, and additional information.

Early Action/Early Decision applicants will have through November 20 to change their testing status and submit their self-reported scores via forms in their applicant portals. Review our test-optional policy.

We can accept school documents from counselors for Early Action/Early Decision applicants through November 16.
